Various companies in Blair County including Curry Rail Services (Central Division), CS Trucking in Roaring Spring, Central Hydraulics, Curry Supply and Curry Supply Corp (Southern Division) will be participating in the 2017 Corporate Wellness Challenge.
This is the 4th Annual Blair County Corporate Wellness Challenge. There will be 3 Divisions (Northern, Central and Southern). A champion will be crowned in each, with the winner of the overall competition announced in April on the field during the Altoona Curve game.
The challenge will begin on January 3rd, 2017 and run through March 31st, 2017. The goal is to make Blair County Healthier and lead a more active lifestyle. Last year, 613 participants lost over 3,780 pounds. This year, we’ve raised our goals to 750 participants and 5,000 lbs.
After Blair County being ranked 46 out of 67 healthiest counties in Pa, a decision was made to try and change that. The goal is to educate and help motivate people to make healthier choices and lifestyle changes. Hoping this challenge is a step in that direction.
We are very excited to be a part of this challenge!
More information about the health assessment can be found at http://healthyblaircountycoalition.org/.
Each location has a sign up sheet and will need to do so before December 16th.
Some of our locations work every day of the year and CS Trucking in Dover, Ohio is one of them. Since some employees would not be able to enjoy a dinner on Thanksgiving Day, Lisa Ackerman and her daughter Nicole brought dinner to them! Along with Kathy Weickel, they planned out what they would make for the employees. Lisa and her daughter cooked the food and set up in the break room. This allowed the drivers and other working employees to be able to come in and eat when they were either finished up or starting their shift. Lisa and Nicole did a very nice job and the drivers LOVED it. Lisa has worked her way up from a shuttle driver to shuttle supervisor here at CS Trucking. Thanks to their hard work, employees were able to enjoy a Thanksgiving feast! Here are some pictures from the dinner.
